Well, it's been 20 years since I graduated from High School.  It's unbelievable how time flies!  I'm debating what to do, I have to fly to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam from San Francisco on Monday, the 13th of October and the reunion is on the 11th of October.  I was thinking of flying from New York or Chicago, go to the reunion and then fly onto San Francisco.  We'll see.

In high school, I would daydream of traveling the world, especially Hong Kong.  At age 16, Hong Kong seemed so far away (because it is!) and so foreign.  Little did I know that just five or so years later I would be going there as often as I do.  Actually I think if I would go back in time and tell a 17 year old George what I would be doing in the future, I would think it was all a dream.  I think that is why I think I am living in a dream state.

A young (excited) George on his 1st trip to HK.

I'm going to post this blog and then post a picture of a young George Zaharoff in Hong Kong for the first time.  It was at age 23 and I had gone there to speak with the president of Clarins to help me distribute an idea I had to launch a women's fragrance simply called "Zaharoff."

Below is a picture of what was to be a very successful launch of both a women's and men's fragrance under the Zaharoff umbrella.

I was wondering if you would ever bring back the Zaharoff fragrance for women. I have been holding on to the candle, the body lotion, the shower gel and the royal parfum solid! Needless to say, they've lost some of the fragrance, however I use them sparingly, hoping the fragrance will return.

    Sincerely,

Next time you are in Hong Kong look up the war memorial for those who died in the Defence of Hong Kong in 1942. My grandfather Victor Isidorovitch Zaharoff is commemorated. He was massacred by the Japanese at the age of 28.

I shouldn't think we are related but I have never come across anyone with this surname as my mother's family returned to Russia at the end of WWII.

I have tried to find Zaharoff for Women for years. It was the best fragrance I ever wore. Will there be anymore? If so, when?
